About Amanda

May 8, 2009

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! Here you will find some of my most recent work,as well as occasional sneak peaks from client sessions.

First, a little about me – I have loved photography ever since my parents gave me my first camera (a Kodak Instamatic) when I was a child. I snapped pictures of everything and saved my allowance to buy film and flash cubes. Wow, remember those?! I continued to study photography through college and marriage, even learning how to develop and print my own b&w photographs in a bathroom/darkroom, but it was with the birth of my first child that I realized how important photography truly is.

As a mother of two children, I know all too well how quickly childhood passes. Tiny, cuddly newborns become curious crawlers, and before you know it they are taking those first wobbly steps. As parents, we want to document each stage before it melts into the next. As a portrait photographer, I am happy that I am able to help parents capture memories that will be precious to them years for years to come, especially when that tiny baby comes home, bringing a tiny new one of their own.

If you are interested in booking a session, please visit my portrait website where you will find my portfolio, information on sessions, rates, and contact information, as well as an availability calendar.

Brandon: nice pictures... what kind of camera are you using? and what about lens?

Amanda: Thanks Brandon! Right now I use a Canon 5D Mark ii, but most of the pictures on the blog were made with my Canon 30D. I mainly use a 50 mm and an 85 mm lens.
